Nitish Mishra has more than 27 years of experience in professional and public life. He has completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Global Political Economy from the University of Hull, United Kingdom (1998) and was a recipient of the British Foreign and Commonwealth (Chevening) Scholarship. Did MBA from FORE School of Management, New Delhi and Maastricht School of Management, the Netherlands (1995), Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Delhi (1994) and Certificate of Completion for the Emerging Leader's Programme (November 2016), from John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Executive Education.
He has served as a Minister, Sugarcane Development, Disaster Management, Rural Development and Social Welfare Department , Govt. of Bihar between 2005 – 2015. During his Tenure as minister , Department of Rural Development, Govt. of Bihar received 3 national awards from the Government of India
He has been identified as one of the Promising Social Entrepreneur by Digital Partners, a Seattle based organisation for project E-Health (2002). Winner of Pepsi MTV Youth Icon 2008. Recognized among Thirty Indian Young Leaders by the British High Commission, New Delhi (2013). He was also Nominated for Fame India – CVoter Survey ‘Minister No.-1 and was voted for rank-2 for his performance as Minister, Rural Development in 2013. He was awarded British Foreign and Commonwealth (Chevening) Scholarship (1997).
He presently is the vice president of BJP, Bihar and Member Legislative Assembly from Jhanjharpur (Madhubani). This is his 4th term as a MLA.
