Corporate Background

• Principal and Head of Investments at Pegasus India Evolving Opportunities Fund (July 22 to Present) - An early stage impact focused VC working in Fintech, Edtech, Healthtech and Cleantech sectors. Responsible for deal sourcing, evaluation, investment, due diligence, negotiation and closure, deal documentation overview, etc. Also responsible for portfolio company engagement and helping them with business development and strategy, fund raising and exit.
  Have invested in 8 companies in 18 months and 4 of those are already doing follow on rounds at steep premiums to last rounds in areas like fin tech, clean tech and age tech.
  Proven track record of raising funds for the funds as well as portfolio companies- Responsible for fund raising from HNIs, Family offices and Institutional investors and have helped to increase the fund corpus by 3x from INR 500 mn to INR 1500 mn. Responsible for actively interacting with the LPs and get relevant inputs and assistance as required for portfolio companies.
• About 24 years of investment banking and international corporate experience. Am currently a partner with Successroute India Financial Advisors LLP, (April 2010 to present) a boutique advisory firm focusing on stressed /special situation assets domain and strategic corporate advisory.
• Successroute is a leading stressed advisory firm and has provided financial advisory services for various PSU Banks, Cooperative Banks, NBFCs etc managing the sale of NPL assets. Has managed over USD 2.5 billion in asset sales for various banks and NBFCs like Bank of Baroda, Dena Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Lakshmi Vilas bank, Kalyan Janta Sahkari Bank, HDB, IIFL, Volkswagen Financial Services etc.
• Was recently advisor to the resolution applicant (RA) at Jyoti Structures Limited under IBC- responsibilities included being the point of contact for the fund raising process that involved syndication from 115 investors. Was also handling all the operational process in getting the company out of IBC - attended NCLT hearings, lender meetings, support to regulatory process etc.
• Have also been active in the mid-market M&A and strategic advisor to marquee corporates like Sony, Future group, Shriram Housing, OCTL, Futurz staffing, Garden foods, Resil Chemicals etc.
• Previously worked with Advisory & Analytics( Apr 2005 - Mar 2010) where I was the India partner for CDI, a network of boutique global investment banks focused on cross-border M&A and serviced clients like Geometric Software, Indian Oil, GI International, Kemppi Oy, iGate Technologies, ITW, etc.
• Prior to that, was a VP at Edelweiss Capital where I specialized in the technology and outsourcing practice, authoring sector research and leading significant high profile M&A transactions including a USD 92 mn sale to TH Lee Putnam and GIC of Singapore.
• Have experienced working UK and Germany and have also worked with clients in the USA, UK, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Philippines, Finland and South East Asia.

Start-up Advisory

• Have been active in the start-up space and provide mentoring, fundraising and strategic business advisory to early stage start-ups.
• Clients in this space include MedLabz (sale to Medife.com), Select Jobs (Seed funding from Dell foundation and Mumbai Angels), United Media Works (Strategic tie-up), Vler (acquihire by Acko), Xlsys Technologies (Angel investing from Cisco veteran), Nector Foods, Ethiko Para Ti, etc
• Have recently advised on the strategic stake sale of Carnot technologies , a leading agritech start-up to Mahindra and Mahindra.

Non Profit Experience

• Actively involved in setting up and mentoring at Uma Bal Bharti, Jaipur a not for profit school with about 250 students dedicated to street children education. It has also received the middle school certification from the government of Rajasthan.
• Founder Director of Save Aarey Foundation working in the area of environment awareness and tree plantation. Aarey is situated in western suburbs of Mumbai and is one of the last remaining green patches of the city. www.saveaarey.org.
